DWR posts list of applications for IRWM drought grant funding

The grant application period closed on July 21, 2014. DWR received 39 grant applications requesting a total of $339 million in IRWM grant funds for projects totaling in excess of $970 million for the 2014 IRWM Drought Grant Solicitation.

DWR has posted the list of applications received for this year’s integrated regional water management (IRWM) drought grant solicitation. The 39 applicants requested a total of $339 million in funding. DWR is making $200 million in grants available.

Proposed regulations, made public Tuesday, focused on reducing outdoor urban water use.

Prohibited activities would include water use that leads to runoff, water use on hard surfaces like sidewalks and asphalt and the use of potable water in a fountain.  Fines of up to $500 for each day in which violations occur may be imposed.
